My BCIN journey was challenging, demanding, and at times stressful—but having the right support made all the difference.

General Legal/Process 2024 — Successfully Passed

I had previously attempted the General Legal/Process exam and scored 67%. After that experience, I knew I needed to change the way I was preparing before taking the exam again.

​

I decided to use StoneWood Partners’ BCIN exam preparation, and it made a real difference in my preparation. The practice questions gave me an opportunity to test my understanding, identify where I needed to improve, and become more comfortable working through exam-style questions.

​

I improved my result from 67% in July 2026 to 76% in August 2026, and this time, I successfully passed my General Legal/Process exam.

​

One thing I noticed from taking the Ministry exam is that the questions were more involved and wordy than I expected. StoneWood’s practice and preparation helped me build more confidence in working through these types of questions before taking the exam again.

Looking back, the most important part for me was not simply getting more questions to practice — it was using the preparation to identify my weaknesses and improve from my previous attempt.

After connecting, we exchanged several messages and also spoke multiple times over the phone. Vijay has always been very supportive and willing to share his knowledge and experience.

Today, I passed my General Legal exam through Ontario's BCIN program, one more step toward becoming a Building Inspector.

It hasn't been a straight line to get here: a Bachelor of Design in Environmental Design from OCAD University, hands-on experience reviewing drawings against the Ontario Building Code and AODA requirements as an Architectural Assistant, and now studying for the Small Building exam alongside full-time work.

​

What keeps me going is genuinely enjoying the process, taking a scattered set of code requirements and fitting them into a picture that keeps people safe. Not what I expected to love most about architecture, but here we are.
