Real Industry Experience. Practical Code Knowledge. Exam-Focused Preparation.

I’m Vijaykumar Patel, a BCIN-certified Designer, Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), and LEED AP BD+C professional, with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.

My professional experience includes Ontario Building Code–compliant design, building permit documentation, and practical Code application across residential, small building, and Part 3 projects.

I don't just teach the Ontario Building Code—I work with it in real-world design and construction projects. That experience shapes how I develop my BCIN training courses, practice questions, and exam preparation strategies.

Why Learn From Me?

Because passing a BCIN exam requires more than memorizing Code provisions or practising multiple-choice questions.

You need to understand how the Code works, recognize which requirements apply, locate relevant provisions efficiently, and interpret them accurately under exam conditions.

That's exactly what my preparation materials are designed to help you develop.

Drawing on my professional experience and understanding of BCIN exam requirements, I have developed structured video lessons, scenario-based practice questions, and realistic timed simulations that focus on three essential skills:

  • Understand the Code: Build a strong foundation in Ontario Building Code concepts, requirements, and their practical applications.

  • Apply the Code: Develop the reasoning and interpretation skills needed to solve exam-style questions and real-world building design problems.

  • Prepare for Exam Conditions: Strengthen your Code navigation, accuracy, time management, and confidence through focused practice.

My goal is to help you understand not just which answer is correct, but why it is correct and how to find the supporting Code requirement.

My Commitment to You

I am committed to making BCIN preparation practical, structured, and relevant—helping you build the Code knowledge, problem-solving skills, and exam strategy needed to approach your examination confidently.

Whether you're an aspiring designer, architectural technologist, or construction professional, my goal is to help you prepare effectively for your BCIN exam and develop Building Code knowledge you can carry into your professional work.

Know the Code. Apply It Right.

With the right direction and motivation during my professional journey, I was able to successfully complete several BCIN certifications including On-Site Sewage Systems, Plumbing – All Buildings, Building Services, Powers and Duties of the CBO, General Legal (2012), Complex Buildings, and Small Buildings.

What I appreciated the most was that Vijay was always approachable and willing to share his experience. His support and encouragement in the initial stages really helped me stay focused on my career path.
